CONGRATULATIONS to Mr Cooper’s House and Gardens (and its chef Gareth Jones) on being named Manchester Restaurant of the Year in the 2014 Cheshire andLancashire Life Food and Drink Awards.
Always the bridesmaid previously, the Midland Hotel-based restaurant and bar was pipped by Manchester House in three categories in the Manchester Food and Drink Awards and was in explicably omitted from the 2015 Good Food Guide.
Manchester House and its Spinningfields neighbour, Neighbourhood were both highly commended in the Manchester section of the ‘Life’ Awards, handed out at the Hilton, Deansgate.
Salford and Ramsbottom are annexed for circulation reasons. Damson Media City is a runner-up in Lancashire Life Restaurant of the Year, while Rammie’s Eagle and Child wins its Traditional Pub of the Year to go with the Food Pub of the Year gong from Manchester Food and Drink Awards.
Another serial winner is Mary-Ellen McTague of Aumbry, who won the overall Cheshire Life and Lancashire Life Chef of the Year.
