THE Jane Eyre, Ancoats’ latest neighbourhood bar, has announced it will launch on Friday, July 27. By then maybe bartending brothers Jonny and Joe Eyre will have got through to everyone their Cutting Room Square venture is not a homage to Bronte Country but a nod to their mum Jane.
Their cv certainly doesn’t include wild moorland inns. They trained at the likes of Spuntino and Gorilla and promise a bijou list of high-quality cocktails, beers from Manchester’s local breweries; a lbar snack menu with charcuterie, cheese plates and weekly specials, and one deck vinyl sessions for the community.
That community feel is very much their aim (not dissimilar to Elnecot’s just along Blossom Street).
