IT was good to see the BBC Breakfast team out on the town (well, the Salford Quays waterfront anyway) for the glitzy VIP bash at the new MediaCityUK Alchemist Bar & Restaurant.
Charlie Stayt, Steph McGovern, Mike Bushhell and the rest joined the party celbrating the arrival of the 11th Alchemist bar,.
But the necessity to be up before the crack of dawn meant they weren’t the last to leave the lavish party that lived up to it stunning setting on The Bund straddling North Bay between The Lowry Theatre and MediaCityUK.
This futuristic £1.2m development featuring a dazzling gold clad roof and walls an angular blackened steel and bronze bar is already establishing itself as a Quays landmark.
The bar wraps around from the interior to an enclosed outdoor terrace, offering sweeping views of the water and the surrounding area rich in industrial heritage.
The venue is open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a cocktail selection that includes classics such as the Smokey Old Fashioned and new additions such as the Battenberg, typically utilising molecular drinks-making techniques. Check out the menus here.
