New Black Dog opens off Oxford Road

11 May 2012

Black Dog have opened their new venue off Oxford Road with a new menu complete with breakfast and all year round BBQ.

The three floor New York style Speakeasy, Diner, Poolroom, Roof Terrace, BBQ and Club, is now open on New Wakefield Street. Food is served from 10am until 1am daily and they have got 50 per cent off food for a introductory period too.

This, second Black Dog Ballroom, is in the building previously occupied by Pure Space and will be open from 10am to 4am.

Local, British ingredients

The food menu, which was created by Northern Quarter Restaurant and Bar chef Anthony Fielden draws on local ingredients and replicates that available in the Northern Quarter.

The pizzas, gourmet and NY style burgers, salads, hot dogs, sandwiches and sharers is completed with the addition of breakfast served from 10am and a top floor roof terrace and permanent BBQ station.

Breakfast includes a range of configurations of the big English and for those in a hurry, the menu offers sausage, bacon, veggie sausage and egg butties to takeaway or eat in.

In hope of the long summer days ahead the new bar is food from the BBQ including The Quarter Pounder, with local Cheshire beef and Jack Daniels glaze, served with salad and Black Dog relish, and the New York Burger. Served in wax paper it can be doubled or tripled for £1 or £2 (yes, you are reading this right!).

Jobe Ferguson, co-owner of Black Dog Ballroom says "We are proud that all of our beef burgers are made from 28 day aged Cheshire beef and like all our meats are supplied by local butcher Jack Wood. The sausages are his old English recipe."
