After 16 years of Salvi’s in Manchester, the family behind the much-loved Neapolitan restaurant is starting its next chapter with AMÒ- a smaller, more modern, spontaneous take on everything that people already know and love about Salvi’s, with Maurizio’s daughter Sienna Cecco bringing a new generation of the family into the mix- same family recipe, just a new ingredient.
The food, the family, the Italian produce and, of course, the chaos are all still there at AMÒ- they’ve got a new home and a fresh new look.
AMÒ is Neapolitan slang for 'my love'. It’s used freely, warmly and often with a little attitude- the kind of word thrown into conversation without thinking, but meant every time.
The new Deansgate Mews site is designed to be a place you can simply drop into - no bookings, no big occasion needed. Pop in for lunch, grab a coffee, stay for a spritz or come back with friends.
At AMÒ there will be fresh pasta cooked daily by chef Valentina, with a £10 lunch deal. There’s no set menu - what’s cooking will change every day, so you won’t know exactly what’s being served until you turn up. One day it could be a rich Neapolitan ragù, the next something completely different. Freshly made, different every day and, once it’s gone, it’s gone.
You’ll also find plenty of familiar favourites, from fresh pasta and Italian deli produce to Caffè Crema, gelato, affogato and proper Italian coffee. For the Salvi’s family, AMÒ represents the next generation of the brand: keeping the heart of what has made Salvi’s part of Manchester for the past 16 years, while creating something brand new that feels younger, more casual and made for the way people eat and drink in the city now.
