A new independent coffee house is set to open its doors at Merseyway Shopping Centre in Stockport.

“I am a local lad who has grown up in Stockport, and I thought it was time to take the leap and own my own place - and where better than my hometown?” asks David.

“I am so excited to open our doors to the Stockport community. This has always been a dream of mine and I aim to put Stockport on the coffee map. Independent retailers have a place on the high street and Coffee Block will be in the heart of Stockport”.

Located next to The Body Shop on the High Street, Coffee Block will be serving hand-crafted coffee as well as a wide selection of delicious cakes, paninis, and sandwiches.

Stockport’s Merseyway Shopping Centre is home to more than 90 stores including high street favourites, such as Pandora, Primark, Waterstones, HMV and JD Sports, alongside a selection of local independents, leisure attractions and cafes and places to eat.

Victoria Nichol, Centre Manager added: “Merseyway is committed to supporting local, independent businesses so we’re delighted to welcome Coffee Block to the centre. This new addition to our tenant mix will enhance our food & beverage offering and we can’t wait for them to open their doors.”

With the help of The Future High Streets Fund, the Merseyway centre is undergoing extensive regeneration plans to help improve facilities for the local community with public consultation currently underway for Stockroom, a new learning and discovery space.

Merseyway is a popular destination for families, delivering an exciting calendar of free annual events. Committed to supporting the local community, it is also home to several innovative social enterprises including DIY community hub, The Merseyway Workshop and The Landing, an outdoor growing space created by the team at acclaimed Stockport restaurant, Where the Light Gets In.
