New private members club The Milton Club to open on Deansgate

5 November 2013

The Milton Club is a new members club on Deansgate opening later this month which, we hope, will provide a classy late night drinking den for those seeking a place to hide away with friends and colleagues in the city centre. To date, fans of a beverage after hours have had to confine their fun to the Black Dog chain, Chinatown's Seven Oaks pub, the Press Club or Corridor Bar. So a new addition is a welcome one - especially one for the over 25s, like this.

The venture seems to have some old hands at its helm - ex-The Northern's John Locke is rumoured to be involved in some way - which will perhaps help to oil proceedings as experience is a must when it comes to late night licensing. The venue is named after the poet John Milton of Paradise Lost fame and is located on Deansgate in the historic Milton Hall. Bernard Carroll, meanwhile, (who has worked on the likes of Cabbage Hall, the Reform Club and Cafe Istanbul) has created an amber and charcoal grey interior, complete with booths. Applications for membership are now being accepted. Watch this space for more details.
