New sports bar, BOX, to open on Deansgate with Cocktail Steins, beer towers and shot boxes

18 October 2021 by Deanna Thomas

BOX, the national award-winning sports bar will open on Deansgate (opposite Spinningfields) this November.

The 8000sqft venue will be spread across two floors boasting over 20 screens to watch live sports. As well as watching, you can also play, thanks to two 21-foot European Shuffleboard tables. Music will be supplied by apres-ski style live bands, as well as DJs playing favourite floor-fillers, and ‘Bandeoke’ - where guests are free to take the mike and join the house band on stage every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The ground floor of BOX features no less than twenty top-of-the-range TV screens which surround a spectacular island bar allowing the action to be seen from any seat in the venue. There’s a more relaxed and premium viewing experience upstairs, with booth-seating and luxurious finishes more suitable for private parties and match viewings.

Beer tanks will be filled with fresh Budvar delivered directly from the Czech Republic every week for those looking for a drink (or two/three/four). There will also be secret recipe Pornstar and Espresso Martinis available on tap, as well as larger-than-life Cocktail Steins, four litre beer towers and shot boxes. Craft beers from Manchester and all over the UK will be available along with a selection of cocktails, wines and fizz.

The food menu has been inspired by world street foods using the finest quality ingredients cooked by a talented kitchen team – and mostly designed to eat with one hand. There’ll be a range of pizzas made using double fermented dough, signature burgers, marinated kebabs and BOX platters of mini burgers, mozzarella fries, crispy popcorn chicken and succulent BBQ ribs.

BOX Manchester also boasts an outdoor terrace for alfresco lunches and drinks outside when the weather allows.

“We’re delighted to finally be introducing our BOX brand to Manchester for its much-anticipated launch,” says Arc Inspirations CEO Martin Wolstencroft. “It’s exciting to be opening the doors next month to guests, especially after what’s been a challenging time for everyone.

"We’re confident the good folk of Manchester will enjoy BOX’s high-energy experience and overall, come to us for some great fun. The bar will also create 70 new local jobs for the local community, and we’re keen to hear from people interested in working in a fast-growing, dynamic company.”

BOX will be the fourth Manchester opening from Leeds based Arc Inspirations, who are behind Banyan Corn Exchange, Banyan Spinningfields and near neighbour Manahatta, which opened on Deansgate in 2018. BOX already has four existing venues around Leeds and describes itself as ‘a game-changing, high-quality sports bar where you can eat, drink, view, play and party’. BOX Leeds City Centre won Best New Bar at the Publican Awards 2019 and Arc Inspirations is planning to establish further sites in 2022 and beyond.
