Thirteen of the UK’s most exciting chefs will come together in Manchester this March for the sixth annual Eat Well MCR x NRB fundraising dinner, raising vital funds to provide chef-made meals for families and individuals facing food insecurity across Greater Manchester.
Held on Monday 9th March, on the eve of Northern Restaurant & Bar (NRB) - the North’s leading hospitality trade show - the dinner has become one of the most anticipated nights in the northern hospitality calendar. Each year, leading chefs donate their time and talent to cook collaboratively for a cause that directly supports their local community.
Founded in 2020 by chef Mary-Ellen McTague, Eat Well MCR delivers high-quality, chef-prepared meals to families living in temporary accommodation, women’s refuges, food banks, schools and parents of children in hospital. To date, the charity has provided more than 150,000 meals across Greater Manchester.
Curated by McTague, this year’s line-up spans Michelin-starred kitchens, neighbourhood favourites and rising stars from across the UK. Participating chefs include Tom Barnes (Skof - Michelin Star 2026), Chris Trundle (Climat), Shaun Moffat & Tom McManus (Winsome), Alfonso Esposito (Circolo Popolare), Jamie Pickles (Stow), Livia Alarcon (CHIN-ZANO), Natalia Ribbe (Sète), Paul Durand (Manifest), Ahmed Abdalla (Legacy at The Grand), Zosima Fulwell (Mama Z), Richard Carver (Proloco) and Rich Sharples (Loafi Bakehouse).
Guests will be welcomed with champagne and cocktails before sitting down to a multi-course collaborative menu, with each chef contributing dishes across snacks, fish, mains and dessert. The evening also features entertainment from host Emily Spowage, plus music and dancing from DJ Lenny and Living Room Dance Club, alongside a charity raffle with prizes donated by chefs and venues.
“This dinner is always one of the most special nights of the year for us,” says Mary-Ellen McTague, founder of Eat Well MCR. “It shows the very best of the hospitality industry - chefs giving their time and talent to cook not for profit, but for people who really need it. Every ticket sold directly funds meals that bring comfort, dignity and a bit of joy to families going through incredibly tough times.”
In partnership with Eat Well MCR’s fundraising dinner, guests can also enter a charity raffle featuring standout culinary prizes from Stow, Mama Z, Winsome, The Grand, York and Michelin-starred Skof - with every ticket purchased funding five meals for people who need support across Manchester. The raffle will be drawn on Monday, 22nd March 2026, to mark Eat Well MCR’s sixth birthday.
Last year, the annual event raised over £27k, with organisers aiming to raise £30k this year - funding thousands more meals for people across the region.
