If you're after something a little more wholesome in the city then YAN TAN TETHERA - Manchester's newest farmers’ market - is sure to make you smile.
Manchester Farmers Market, a new non-profit initiative, is proud to announce the launch of a monthly farmers’ market dedicated to making seasonal food more accessible while strengthening the connection between farmers and people.
Brought to you by Manchester Urban Diggers founders of Platt Fields Market Garden and artist Kat Wood, former Creative Director of Where The Light Gets In and Director of The Landing CIC community garden, and Track Brewing Co, the market will officially launch in January 2026, with a soft launch event on Sunday 30th November 2025 at Track Brewery, Piccadilly Trading Estate.
The market will showcase the very best small-scale producers from the Peak District, Yorkshire, and the Lake District, offering bread, eggs, honey, fruit and vegetables, meat, and more with each stallholder having a commitment to sustainable and regenerative farming practices that care for people, animals, and the environment.
At YAN TAN TETHERA, Manchester Farmer’s Market, visitors will be able to:
Meet the farmers who tend to, sow, cultivate, harvest, mill, and brew the food we eat.
Learn the stories behind their produce, its origins, history, and seasonal rhythms.
Build lasting relationships with the people who grow and make their food.
Support local economies while becoming part of a community-driven alternative food system.
“This is a space where people can connect with farmers directly, make conscious choices about what they eat, and help strengthen a fairer, more sustainable food system in Manchester,” say the organisers of Manchester Farmer’s Market.
The market will take place on the last Sunday of every month, starting January 2026, and aims to empower people with knowledge about seasonality, transparency, and the value of small-scale farming.
