Leoâs Fish Bar in the Northern Quarter is celebrating almost 20 years in business with a new launch, refreshed image â and a recommendation from the Fast Food Guide. The restaurant has a new look, as well as wi-fi, fresh coffee and waitress service. But what hasnât changed is the menu, with classics such as fish and chips, full english breakfasts, kebabs, burgers and fried chicken all on offer.
Joanne Whaley, director of the restaurant explained that the facelift was inspired by the changing demographic and commercial profile of the Northern Quarter. She said: âThe regeneration of the Northern Quarter signals a new era for the city. We believe that our launch will play a significant role in this development, ensuring that our customers will continue to enjoy the best traditional food and service in stylish surroundingsâ?.
Much of their menu is ethically sourced too. Leoâs uses line caught fish and 100% chicken breast, prepared freshly on the premises. This focus on quality and hygiene has resulted in the restaurant being awarded an âExceptionalâ? status in the 2011 edition of the Fast Food Guide. This reputation is backed up by customer foot fall. Numbers are up since February with a clientele that includes students, office workers, business people and those living in the nearby Northern and Green Quarters. So whatâs next for the fish bar? Whaley said: âWe plan on opening another five branches across Manchester over the next three yearsâ?.
