North’s biggest vegan festival is back in Manchester

8 October 2015

THE Northern Vegan Festival returns to Manchester city centre on Saturday, October 17, spread across four venues with 185 stalls and 16 caterers offering a range of vegan food including Indian, Caribbean, Malaysian, Mexican, Turkish, American street food, and British.

There’s a vegan pet food stall, two vegan shoe stalls, and numerous charities and campaign groups plus a vegan beer and cider festival at the Thirsty Scholar vegetarian/vegan food pub, free food from numerous vegan companies, films and talks all day, children's book readings, and speed meeting and dating.

The festival attracted 2,500 visitors when it was last held in Manchester in 2013 and with the boost given to veganism by celebrity adherents such as Miley Cyrus, organisers expect to top that figure.

Centred around Sachas Hotel and The Central Methodist Hall on Oldham Street will be opened by Victoria Eisermann (pictured), passionate vegan model, radio host and CEO and co-founder of K-9 Angels dog rescue charity.

The Festival will run from 10am until 6pm at the above venues plus V Revolution at 88 Oldham Street and from noon to 3am at the Thirsty Scholar, 55 New Wakefield Street. Admission £2 (under-12s free).
