NQ Hive of activity officially launches with music, wine, ale, and, naturally, pies

2 August 2013

BAKERIE won newcomer of the year in the 2013 Manchester Food and Drink Awards and it has certainly not been resting on its laurels since then, expending from its Lever Street across the way into The Hive.

First there was the Bakerie Tasting Room, where Dale Meakin offers his expert advice to complement one of the city’s best selections of wine, next door to the Bakerie’s bakery. This is now churning out a daily changing line-up of pies for Pie and Ale, (pictured), a mix of Scandinavian design and handpumps dispensing local cask ales to wash down those pies.

It’s the most public face of the Hive Arcade, a series of offics for which the term creative hub could have been invented. Now on Friday, August 2, the piemakers and the creatives are joining together to belatedly, offically launch the Arcade.

Expect live music and DJs – as well a wide selection of ales, wine tasting and even some bread making. It’s a free, ticket only event, so register quickly!

The Hive, Lever Street, M1 1FN, Fri 2 Aug, 5pm-10pm, free, thehivearcade.eventbrite.co.uk
