THE booking lines are now open for Obsession 2016 at Northcote near Blackburn. Chef/proprietor and Great British Menu legend Nigel Haworth (pictured above) has been curating this annual gastronomic pilgrimage for 16 years now and this year’s 10-day festival (Fri Jan 22-Sun Feb 7) is more Michelin-starry than ever.
The chefs, each of whom takes over the Northcote kitchen for a night, will fly in from across the globe – Mexico, South Africa, Japan, Taiwan, Poland, Italy and France.
Among these are two members of the Michelin 3-star elite club – Hideaki Matsuo from Kashiwaya in Osaka ans Japan Annie Feolde from Florence’s Enoteca Pinchiorri plus two fellow Italians who will cook together, Angelo Sabatelli and Marco Stabile, who have three between them.
Representing the UK will be two chefs from contrasting restaurants – Noma-trained Tom Sellers of the minimalist Restaurant Story, Bermondsey and Andre Garrett who cooks at the opulent country house, Cliveden in Berkshire. Haworth himself concludes the event on February 7.
Each Obsession dinner costs £120 a head with wine packages extra. To book ring 01254 244508.
