Having only opened just a few months ago, this bistro with a focus on seasonal cuisine has already captured the attention of critics everywhere and as of last night received critical acclaim.
We are, of course, referring to Higher Ground from the team behind Flawd, who as of yesterday were ranked in the UK’s top 100 restaurants at the prestigious National Restaurant Awards.
But where did they place? Well, the new boys on the block came in at an extremely respectable 51 out of 100 which is nothing to be sniffed at considering they are within their first year of trading.

Judges made comments such as“impeccable sourcing and creative cooking” while describing it as a “modern and thoughtful Manchester bistro.”
Headed up by Joseph Otway, front of house pro Richard Cossins and wine connoisseur Daniel Craig Martin, the higher ground team had this to say: “What a night. Incredibly proud of the Team who we are lucky enough to work with.
“Congratulations to all of the other teams involved last night – the future is very exciting indeed!”
Other neighbouring restaurants that featured in the list were The Parkers Arms in nearby Lancashire coming in at 12 as well as our very own Mana who placed at number 71.
