Plans have been submitted for a new Italian restaurant to open in Wilmslow town centre.
The new venue, which comes from the owners of the former Bar & Grill in Alderley Edge and Individual Restaurants, who are behind the popular Piccolino Italian chain, is set to open at 4 – 12 Swan Street.
The building previousely housed the Brewhouse and Kitchen up until its closure back in August last year.
The plans outline a new venue for Piccolino, which already has a restaurant on Clarence Street just off Albert’s Square, as well as one in Didsbury, Knutsford and a smaller venue named Piccolo inside Next in the Arndale.
The restaurant describes itself as “diverse, energetic and bursting with character”. You’ll find classic pasta dishes on the menu, alongside specials that use fresh lobster and pork cheek and ‘pizza Napoletana’ – an authentic taste of Naples. The dough is made fresh every day by its in-house ‘master baker’.
The venue also offers a wine boutique, cocktail bar, oyster and caviar bar and a large alfresco dining area at its Clarence Street venue, which sits opposite the Town Hall.
There are no changes due to be made to the venue’s façade, but the companies behind the new project have pledged to invest £1.5 million and create 40 new jobs for the area, which will be a mix of full and part-time roles.
Piccolino Wilmslow is set to be open and trading by Christmas 2023.
