LESS than a fortnight after quitting their original home in the arches along Sheffield Street the acclaimed Pollen Bakery have opened the doors at their new site at Cotton Field Wharf, Ancoats (May 30).
They are serving fresh pastries, coffee and bread from 8am with lunch from 12pm. Also promised, once they have settled in, hot food and outside seating in a few weeks.
It’s a big step forward for co-owners Hannah Calvert and Chris Kelly, who opened in September 2016 to rapturous acclaim for their sourdough and viennoiserie’ offering. Their cruffins have had punters queuing around the block.
The expansion is a major coup for developers Manchester Life whose careful investment in Cotton Field Wharf alongside New Islington Marina has seen well over half of their 300 properties already let.
