With the popularity and demand for Food Halls being at an all-time high, the quality and range of venues available has never been higher or more competitive so it’s with a huge sense of pride that we can announce one of our very own has been named Best in the UK.
Once a Meat Market, the now grade II-listed building houses beloved Food Hall Mackie Mayor which, as of last week, was named the best in the whole of the UK by Big 7 Travel and Enjoy Travel’s combined list, beating off competitors from up and down the country.
Praised for its ‘exceptional’ food, the venue contains food traders such as Pico’s, Tendercow, Chilli B Thai, New Wave Ramen, Honest Crust Sourdough Pizza and Mumma’s Fried Chicken.

Alongside the absolutely stacked food selection, the popular venue also houses BlackJack Brewtap’s award winning beer and cider bar Jack In The Box, the Reserve wine shop and the newly added Eagle Street Coffee.
Mackie Mayor wasn’t the only Mancunian venue to make an appearance on the list with Altrincham Market House coming in fourth and Society taking the eighth-place position. Other honourable mentions from Northern venues were Liverpool's Baltic Market placing 5th and the Steel cities Cutlery Works coming in at 3rd place.
An extremely well deserved win for a fantastic Manchester Venue and a deserved praise for the norths wide array of exceptional food halls.
