THROUGH social media the other day we chanced upon an article lamenting the demise of the long lunch in media circles, which made us all the more determined to buck the trend… and book lunch. Maybe without the old hack’s recommended hat-trick of dry martinis.
With glorious serendipity the relaunched Rabbit In The Moon – already a five star ToM fave – has just chosen to open for lunch on Friday and Saturday.
The £45 lunchtime tasting menu features favourite dishes from the set dinner menu – the likes of prawn cracker ‘Rabbit Ears’ with nam-tok and dashi, Scottish langoustine and sesame toast with hot and sour beef soup, hand dived scallop in XO sauce, soy and ginger glazed pork cheek and crispy beef in black bean sauce with nasi goreng (pictured).
Boo! Reading the small print it promises business lunchers can be out within the hour. ToM promises to work in a little overtime.
Rabbit In The Moon, Urbis Building, Corporation Street, Manchester, M4 3BG. 0161 804 8560. Open for lunch, Friday and Saturday, 12pm-2pm. Booking required.
