Real Junk Food MCR to open Manchester's first entirely upcycled restaurant

30 July 2015

The Real Junk Food Project have established themselves in Manchester as a serious advocate of putting food that would otherwise go to waste to good use (see their previous events here).

Taking this model one step further, the RJFP announced plans to build a new restaurant at The Wonder Inn on Shudehill in Manchester city centre, made entirely from things that would otherwise go to waste, and build it using only volunteer labour.

According to their statement, they’ve already had an amazing donation of commercial kitchen equipment that would have gone in a skip, chairs donated from a business that was closing down, and even a very swanky coffee machine.

If you'd like to help the cause and create Manchester’s first utterly up-cycled food venue, they'll be posting a lists the items we’re currently searching for on their website, as well as putting lots of shout outs on Facebook and twitter to gather what they need.
