Reggae, rum and red stripe fever as Turtle Bay NQ launches

15 June 2015

WE thought Turtle Bay's first Manchester launch party, down on Oxford Street just couldn't be beat, man. We were wrong. The vibe was even better when the Caribbean food and good times chain opened their second Manchester outlet in Oldham Street.

Lashings of rum, Red Stripe and reggae helped the party-loving agenda in the new 120 cover venue in the old Ryan Vintage site, where the refit topped £1m. Food included the authentic likes of jerk chicken and goat curry.

Turtle Bay founder Ajith Jayawickrema says: "Our second restaurant is testament to how much we love Manchester! We're delighted that people seem to really 'get' Turtle Bay here. The Northern Quarter is such an exciting community to be part of – we are so happy to bring Caribbean good times to this side of town."

The punters at the launch party seemed pretty happy, too.
