FOODIE fixers GRUB are busy boys. Not content with curating the street eats at Mayfield depot – even hosting the British Street Food Awards there – they are now returning to their former chomping ground, Runaway Brewery in the Green Quarter, to launch Runaway for Supper.
This series of supper clubs will launch in September brewery, revamped since the time it hosted regular GRUB food fairs. The plan is to to provide a sit down four course meal matched to Runaway beers every month.
Kicking off the series on Thursday, September 21 serving up their trademark vegan comfort food are Wholesome Junkies, who have been wowing punters down at GRUB Mayfield’s Plant Powered Sundays with dishes like the one below.
They’ll then be followed by Wallace & Sons (Asian inspired fare sure to involve Taiwanese bao), Holy Crab (oyster specialists dealing in the best seafood dishes in Manchester) and Yakumama (award winning Latin American cuisine cooked with passion). This is an opportunity to see Manchester’s best street food traders in a different light preparing their plates in more of a restaurant style and dishing them up in a laid back setting.
Each dish will be served with a different beer carefully selected by the brewing team to complement it. This is by far the best way to experience craft beer as it doesn’t come any fresher, with the head brewer will be on hand to answer any questions.
