Salvi's announce plans for new restaurant and deli at Corn Exchange

22 July 2015 by Lucy Lovell

The family run Italian restaurant Salvi's has announced plans for their new Corn Exchange venue, due to open mid September.

The husband and wife team Maurizio and Claire opened Salvi’s at the Corn Exchange in 2012 to huge popularity and acclaim. Their new premises will be a bigger space with a vastly extended food and drink offering.

Spread over 2 floors with seating both inside and out, the restaurant will seat 120 covers.

The ground floor will house an Italian deli space where Maurizio’s prime produce will be displayed and ready to go. Joints of cured Italian hams; a full Italian cheese counter (of course specialising in their own artisan Buffalo Mozzarella, but also featuring Gorgonzola, Mozzarella, Burrata, Parmigianino Reggiano, Pecorino etc); a huge selection of anti pasti; carefully chosen Italian wines; and specially sourced products for one’s kitchen.

TOM are particularly looking forward to visiting The Wine Room. I imagine we'll be spending a lot of time in here. According to Salvi's, the Wine Room will be an area devoted to appreciation of Italian wine. A space perfectly acclimatised for storing, admiring and enjoying wine.

Lower on our list of favourite themed rooms is The Mozzarella Room. Apparently this room will be furnished with mozzarella machinery, and will make this a place to savour Salvi’s signature product. There’ll be regular Mozzarella masterclasses and tastings.

Maurizio (pictured below with his mother) comments: “This new-look Salvi’s Mozzarella Bar will bring something completely unique to Manchester. We are proud to continue to represent the best of independent. Manchester brands within this exciting new development, and can’t wait to open our doors to our new Italian gastro-emporium.”
