Salvi’s scoops top Italian award for the authentic quality of its food

5 January 2017

CONGRATULATIONS to Salvi’s on joining an elite few at the recent Ospitalita Italiana Awards in London, which acknowledge the most authentic and best Italian restaurants in the world.

Only 16 UK venues received the award this year on the first day of Welcome Italia, an event organised by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry – and Salvi’s was the sole North West winner.

The criteria covered identity and Italian distinctiveness, service menu, wine list, use of extra virgin olive oil and the use of high quality genuine Italian ingredients and recipes.

Maurizio Cecco, owner of Salvi’s, has been bringing the cuisine and produce of his native Naples and the Campania region to Manchester for over four years, in its dining rooms and delis. Commenting on the award he said: “It’s a real honour and is testament to the high quality, genuine Italian food that we serve every day here at Salvi’s.

“We import a large proportion of our ingredients from Italy and pride ourselves on the quality of the produce authenticity of the dishes we serve.  Our menu takes inspiration from my childhood growing up in Naples, and the food my family still eats every day.”

Salvi’s is in our Taste Top 10 Italians and its Norden, Rochdale offshoot, The Osteria is in the Taste Top Pizzas
