MANCHESTER’S talented young chefs make their cutting edge presence felt on the shortlists for the Estrella Dam National Restaurant Awards just announced.

The Chef to Watch category features both Sam Buckley (above) of Stockport’s Where The Light Gets In and Luke Cockerill of Rabbit In The Moon, in Urbis, while Luke’s mentor Michael O’Hare locks spatulas with the likes of Heston Blumenthal and Claude Bosi for Chef’s Chef of the Year. Hawsmoor duo Will Beckett and Huw Gott are up for Restaurateur of the Year.

These prestigious gongs will be handed out, along with others for categories without shortlists at a ceremony at London’s Hurlingham Club on Monday, June 12.

The annual awards now in their 10th year, recognise the top 100 restaurants in the UK as voted for by some top 180 chefs, restaurateurs, food critics and industry experts with the coveted Estrella Damm National Restaurant of the Year being handed put on the night.
