Anyone out there who loves themselves a good sando, bottle of vino or general Charcuterie board main players will be buzzing to know a brand new joint serving up all three and more is set to open its doors next month.
Tucked away on Ancoats’ second courtyard and hidden suntrap, just off Murray Street, Ancoats Deli, is set to open this July, serving up 'really good sandwiches' and takeaway deli essentials.
A much-welcomed addition to the established foodie area, sandwich staples will be accompanied by coffee, cheese, charcuterie as well as a small, well chosen selection of Martini’s, Spritz and wines, to drink in, outdoors on the sunny courtyard, or to take home.
Ancoats Deli will also have a stocked pantry of essentials, where you can pick up milk, eggs, dinner ingredients and a bottle of post dinner wine to takeaway.
And, in a proper lovely Ancoats collab, the marina-based bakery and neighbour, Companio, will provide fresh baked bread for Ancoats Deli sandwiches, including house fave, the classic Jambon Beurre with or without mustard, Reuben with pastrami, and an Egg Sandwich of soft boiled eggs, jammy yolks, Dijonnaise and watercress.
Yum.
The grab and go sandwich and salads menu, which has been designed around lunch time favourites, is accessible and affordable with sandwiches starting from £7.50. With a £10 meal deal that includes a sarnie, coffee and crisps or a takeout serving of olives.
Cheese and Charcuterie boards, designed for sharing, and accompanying wines will be provided from local friends and familiar faces at The Crafty Cheeseman & Yapp Bros. Boards start from £16 with glasses of wine from £5.20, providing the perfect set-up for an after work refreshment, catch up with friends or post Saturday shopping treat.
This is going to make al fresco dining a whole lot better in the summer months with the Ancoats Deli's takeout cheese and meat boxes specially designed for picnics in the Manchester sunshine, accompanied with a chilled bottle of wine, beers or from a selection of canned cocktails, straight from the deli fridge.
With space to sit indoors, soak up the sunshine on the sunny courtyard or take away, Anocats Deli is the perfect little spot come rain or shine.
Co-founder India Morris said: "Lunch time in Ancoats can often be a little tricky, it’s a foodie destination packed full of amazing restaurants and bars, but we felt there was a gap for somewhere to pick up a really good, affordable sandwich or salad.
"We don’t want it to be fancy, we want Ancoats Deli to provide a place where residents and those working locally, can pick up a tasty sarnie deal, without breaking the bank.
"Our evening offering reflects the same idea. We have spent countless hours listening to our friends talk about wanting charcuterie or snacks with their post work or Saturday afternoon drinks, so we decided to do it.
"Our wines are great, but affordable and our cocktail menus are simple and accessible. We wanted to create a space where everyone can come, feel comfortable and just have a lovely time with a pint. Fingers crossed the sunshine stays long enough."
