Save the Date for a Spring Food and Drink Fair with a host of local talent

25 March 2022 by Deanna Thomas

Celebrated Chef Mary-Ellen McTague and the Eat Well MCR team will be hosting a Spring Food and Drink Fair at the city oasis of Platt Fields Market Garden on Sunday 1st May, 11am to 8pm.

They have brought together a bunch of Manchester’s most talented chefs, producers, wine experts and breweries for a day of celebrating spring produce and excellent food and drink. DJs will be providing the backing track for the day of skills workshops, tastings, tours of the market garden, food and drink stalls and more. This fun family day out will also have a timetable of kid friendly activities on the bill.

What’s more, there’s going to be an incredible one-off pop up restaurant from Wildfire, an exciting collaboration between Samuel Munstermann (Head Chef, Where the Light Gets In), Joshua Al-Kazhraji (Head Chef, Coin Hebden and previously of the Moorcock), Emily-Rose Lucas (Restaurant Manager of Where the Light Gets In and former GM of The Creameries) and Amber Diggle (former GM of the Moorcock and currently pouring wines at Coin Hebden).

The line up includes:

  • Wine and snacks from Suppher, the feminist supper club powered by Kim McBride and Anna Sogaard (Sous Chef at Erst)
  • Free kids activities from Lets Get Muddy
  • Workshops and tastings from Caroline Dubois (Isca/ Where the Light Gets In) and Into the Gathering Dusk
  • a Platt Fields Market Garden Tasting Tour

Tickets are just £10 (£5 to concessions and free to under 16s) and are available from 6pm on Friday 25th March from the MUD CIC website

All profits will go to Eat Well MCR, who deliver chef-made meals to families living in food poverty across Greater Manchester.
