Salford City Council and From The Other announce Get In! To Eccles, a brand-new festival landing in the town centre on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 March 2026. For one weekend, streets and venues across Eccles will come alive with performances, installations and unexpected moments, giving everyone a reason to see the town in a whole new light.
The festival will feature playful new installations and interactive works by Lowri Evans at Eccles Train Station, inspired by its passengers and volunteers, as well as 6 Music Festival and FaT OuT present Lauren Auder, Naima Bock & R.AGGS at Eccles Town Hall Ballroom, while Eccles Community Chess Club, the only dedicated high-street chess venue in the North West, hosts a full-blown Tandem Chess Simul, giving the public the rare chance to challenge UK Grandmaster Danny Gormally and resident Candidate Master Mike Surtees as they take on multiple games at once.
Audiences can also expect live music in local venues, an artisan market, interactive installations, family-friendly performances, tonnes of activities, and plenty of chances to get stuck in and join the action, with more events, venues and surprises still to drop.
Visitors can head down for a quick look, spend the day exploring, or build a full weekend out of it around the headline acts. While the festival itself sits at the heart of it all, it also shines a light on Eccles’ independent businesses, venues and cultural life, celebrating the town and the community that makes it tick.
Designed to be welcoming and easy to dip in and out of, most of the weekend’s events will be completely free. 6 Music Festival and FaT OuT present Lauren Auder, Naima Bock & R.AGGS at Eccles Town Hall Ballroom will be ticketed, with discounted rates for Eccles residents. The festival is being delivered by From the Other, Salford City Council and Muse, the strategic regeneration partner for Eccles Town Centre, coming together to showcase Eccles as a place for creativity, culture and fresh ideas, while honouring its rich history.
Councillor Mike McCusker, Lead Member for Planning, Transport and Sustainable Development at Salford City Council, said: "Get In! to Eccles is a fantastic opportunity for people to rediscover the town centre and experience some of the spaces that make it such a distinctive part of Salford.
"We know people want a town centre that feels welcoming and vibrant, with more reasons to visit, spend time and connect with others, and this festival has been developed with those ambitions in mind, bringing activity and creativity right into the heart of Eccles.
"The festival comes at a time when work is underway to support the long term regeneration of Eccles town centre, and it offers families, friends and visitors a great opportunity to come together and play a part in shaping the town’s future.”
Councillor Robinson-Smith, Lead Member for Culture, Heritage, Equalities, Sports and Leisure at Salford City Council, added: "Get In! to Eccles is about creating a weekend that feels open, welcoming and enjoyable, with lots of different ways for people to take part and spend time in the town centre.
"As part of Salford’s centenary year, the festival is one of many events taking place across the city in 2026, giving residents and visitors more opportunities to come together, try something new and celebrate the places that matter to them.
"With free events across the weekend and activities for all ages, it’s a great chance to experience Eccles, support local venues and enjoy a lively programme right on the doorstep."
Stuart Rimmer, Project Director at Muse, also noted: "Muse are delighted to be working in partnership with Salford City Council to drive forward positive change for Eccles Town Centre.
"Our plans are starting to take real shape and are built on the aspirations and feedback from the local community. This will involve several interventions through changes to streets, public spaces, buildings and uses, helping to support shops, services and everyday activity.
"But a key part of creating a vibrant and thriving place is attracting and retaining people in the heart of the town.
"Get In! To Eccles is a chance for us to truly start realising this ambition, by bringing people together to celebrate and enjoy a variety of activities and see what the future of the town has in store."
And Georgie Edwards, Senior Producer at From the Other, said: "At From the Other, we’re passionate about championing local creativity and bringing people together, whether it’s through music, performance, or discovering something new around town.
"We’re thrilled to be curating a festival that celebrates everything that makes Eccles feel alive and exciting, and we’re proud to be working alongside Salford City Council, whose support for brilliant cultural work in local town centres continues to inspire us. The partnership has been fantastic, and together we’ve put together a weekend full of music, performance, installations, artisan markets and unexpected pop-ups.
"There really is something for everyone, and we can’t wait to deliver something special for Eccles and the wider Salford community."
