IT’S good to see the former Gray’s Larder site in Chorlton reemerging as a fish restaurant. Mid-June is the expected opening window for The Oystercatcher, which will offer fish and chips but also venture into much more ambitious marine territory.
We like the sound of squid with romesco sauce or whole sea bass with salsa verde or Vietnamese marinated monkfish tail to share from the charcoal oven. Oh and moules frites always a winner, chowder and crab ravioli.
It won’t stop us patronising nearby Out of the Blue for the freshest fish around, but it is a treat to have it cooked for you.
