SUCH is the impact The French at the Midland has made on Manchester’s fine dining scene it’s going to be a huge wrench when it shuts this summer.
Happily it’s only for a swift revamp of the Simon Rogan-run restaurant in line with the ambitious £1.5m upgrading of the iconic hotel.
Following the August hiatus the French will gain four extra tables and 15 covers, which will allow it to meet customer demand which has seen weekend waiting lists stretching months ahead.
In addition it will gain a new lounge area for pre and post-prandial drinks, a new restaurant entrance in the foyer of the hotel and direct toilet access.
Rogan, who added the space to his restaurant empire in 2013, said: "This is a very exciting development for the restaurant's future growth and the comfort of its customers. It is also a clear indication of our commitment and desire to make the French in Manchester an even greater success."
Here’s Taste of Manchester’s verdict on The French.
