IT has been quite some year for Grub Food Fair. Winner of Best Pop Up, Event of Project of the Year in the Manchester Food and Drink Awards, they’ve made a hugely successful transition to their winter home in Fairfield Social Club on Temperance Street. Typically, they are seeing out 2017 with a bang and hitting the ground running with a Winter beer Festival in January.
First up is their final weekend fair of the year (Fri Dec 15 and Saturday Dec 16), hosting five of the finest street traders around – Holy Crab (below) Mac Daddies, Wholesome Junkies, Press De Cuba and festive cake extravaganzas from Bake O Rama.
This Christmas Food Fair also offers much communal singing of carols plus, to lubricate the tonsils, mulled wines, ‘vegan Baileys’ and local beers.
The latter will get star billing across the weekend of January 19-21 when GRUB host their debut Winter Beer Festival, featuring 24 keg and 8 cask lines from local and international breweries. Oh and of course an array of street food and DJs.
Fri 6pm-11pm, Sat noon-5pm & 6pm-11pm & Sun 12pm-8pm. Earlly bird price of £4 per session – book here.
Sandwiched in between is Fairfield Social Club’s New Year’s Eve House Party. Food is from Pastrami Now, Wholesome Junkies & Yes! Doughnuts; DJs are Jonny Shire & Jamie Groovement; beer from Runaway, Track, Squawk, Atom, Hawkshead, Torrside, Magic Rock, Ilkley, North Brew Co and more.
It’s for 18s and over only, costs £16.40 via eventbrite, and runs from 6.30pm, Sun, Dec 31 to 2.30am Mon, Jan 1.
