Speakeasy: The Fitzgerald to open in Stevenson Square

19 November 2013

New "speakeasy" bar, The Fitzgerald will soft launch in the Northern Quarter from Friday 29 November. It's the brain child of the team behind the Rosylee Tea Rooms, Tusk, Hula bar and more - and, to start with, it will be open from 9pm-2am, and then on and off when there are no private hire bookings until the end of the year. The menu will include  small bites and US influenced snacks, (devilled eggs, soft pretzels with American mustard) while the vibe is American 1920s, Gatsby-style chic. Which is where the name, Fitzgerald (after F Scott Fitzgerald, obvs) comes from. Cocktails are set to be a highlight with playful drinks served with a candyfloss garnish and the like. All staff will be in flapper dresses and the guys in waistcoats to make it feel as though you are stepping back in time. Watch this space for details of a proper full blown launch in January 2014.
