Spice in the sun – Tam-Pop Up Is Back In Exchange Square

30 June 2015

TAMPOPO have brought back their signature brand of pan Asian street food to Exchange Square, seven days a week across the summer while they wait to see when they can reoccupy their site in Corn Exchange transformed by a £30m investment into a ‘food mecca’. Details of Tampopo’s new expanded restaurant shortly.

The 35-cover ‘Tam Pop Up’ is set to fill the gap with quick lunches, pre concert noodles and lazy sharing sessions. With temperatures suddenly matching those in the Far Eastern countries that inspire the Manchester chain’s food offering, it seems like perfect timing.

A pared down version of their usual menu sees all “Tam Pop Up” dishes served as small plates options and there’s a new ‘Grab and Go’ menu – from a dedicated take-out serving hatch.

‘Tam Pop Up’ is also home to the Bahn Mi (main picture) – the classic Vietnamese sandwich with, 50p from every Bahn Mi sold donated to Mines Advisory Group (MAG). MAG saves lives and build futures across the globe by clearing landmines, reducing risks from unexploded bombs and allowing communities to farm land once contaminated by conflict.

Tam Pop Up is now open from 12noon – 9pm (and late at the weekends).
