STOW: Trof owners to open new open fire restaurant and cocktail bar this month

31 October 2024 by Rhiannon Ingle

There's some very exciting news this month as Matt Nellany and Jamie Pickles, owners of much-loved, long-standing, Northern Quarter staple, Trof, will open a brand new restaurant and cocktail bar on Manchester’s Bridge Street this month.

The restaurant, Stow, has a beautifully simple concept alongside a menu cooked entirely over a live fire.

Centring around the 'simplicity of great ingredients cooked over an open fire with very little faff' whilst creating a warm and welcoming environment perfect for quick lunches, group nights out and intimate dinners - it's clear that Stow is the place to be this winter season.

Complete with low lighting, bar seats, candles and carafes to really nail the cosy vibe, the chefs will be using only the best local produce, cooked simply using a custom built grill from Firemade in Somerset and fuelled by locally produced wood and charcoal, guests can expect simple, delicious food in a laid back, comfortably welcoming setting.

A small, regularly changing menu will revolve around a small selection of meat and fish together with a thoughtful list of veg-centric sides and snacks.

The drinks offerings will be equally excellent featuring an exclusively French wine list and local beers alongside a stunning list of cocktails including a Cremant Cocktail, a variation on the classic where demerara and bitters meet the increasingly popular 'other French fizz'.
