Mark your calendars as Stretford’s neighbourhood-wide festival, StretFest, is returning to Stretford next Saturday (1st March) and has now confirmed the headline events that will take place on the day.
This year's festival, which will revolve around the celebration of the 10th anniversary of Stretford Public Hall’s transfer into community ownership, will see Friends of Stretford Public Hall hosting a number of birthday celebrations throughout the day.
A cake-cutting celebration will take place at 2pm and, additionally, a singalong from Stretford Uke and live music from Thingumabob and the Thingumajigs, as well as Batala Manchester, will soundtrack the celebrations.
And, a bit later on in the evening, the Hall will be hosting an array of DJs curated by Nite School - an inclusive Manchester club night.
Serving as a key hub for the festival, the Mall will be hosting their popular monthly event, Stretford Socials, from 12 to 4pm. The Socials will showcase a bunch of stalls featuring talented local makers, bakers, and community groups.
Visitors can also enjoy a variety of free, family-friendly activities that promise fun for all ages. The Mall will also be playing host to another surprise offering from the team at Rainy Heart - Stretford town centre’s pop-up listening bar.
Victoria Park will once again be involved, screening a series of family films celebrating the start of Spring, alongside craft activities with refreshments supplied by The Tea Rooms. More fun for the family can be found at Stretford Library with storytimes, poetry workshops, crafts and reading groups.
Other venues across Stretford will be laying on special events and activities throughout the day including Bakehouse32, Head bar, Longford Tap, BrewChimp, Gigis, Colby’s, Reel Round the Fountain and Clay.
