One of Manchester’s most talked about pasta restaurants, SUD is opening a brand-new site inside Peter Street food hall Exhibition on 23 August.
This is the fourth venue for the Italian kitchen, which already has sites in Ancoats, Sale and Altrincham, but will be its first city centre location. SUD will be in excellent company, as it will join award-winning restaurants OSMA and Baratxuri who have already secured a loyal fan base of foodies at Exhibition.
SUD has gained quite the cult following over the years, and it’s not hard to see why. Its menu is small and simple, with just seven pasta dishes currently available, but each one is simmered in care and attention resulting in mouth-watering Southern Italian comfort food.
There’s also a range of sides to pair with the pasta, including Heritage grain sourdough with a choice of either roast garlic and rosemary butter or nduja, honey and oregano butter, and Calabrian spiced pork belly ribs, that come with raw hispi cabbage and basil slaw.
But don’t expect this menu when SUD opens at Exhibition, as the restaurant is known for regularly mixing up its offering, usually changing with the seasons and creativity of its head pasta chefs.

We think it’s a great project in a great location, and most importantly for us, the whole team at Exhibition really cares about creating something special.”

SUD opens inside Exhibition on Wednesday 23 August.
