Summer Events at Le Social – Manchester’s Smallest Wine Bar

4 July 2022 by Deanna Thomas

Pollard Yard is a 20 minute walk from the city centre along the canal, beyond Ancoats and New Islington. It’s a container project where you’ll find one of Manchester’s biggest creative co-working communities, allowing aspiring entrepreneurs, creatives and small businesses the affordable space they need to grow.

Among the converted shipping containers, you’ll find a web designer, film producer, tattoo parlour, lash specialist, musician, music producer, translator, graphic designer, clothing brand, candle makers and an event photographer. It’s also where you’ll find le Social, Manchester’s smallest wine bar.

Jérôme began Le Social during lockdown, delivering wine to friends’ houses for a small fee, and donating all profits to charity. He also likes to team up with local restaurants and businesses that share his sustainable ethos to host tasting evenings and experiences.

Beyond a passion for wine, Founder Jérôme’s Boullier wider mission is to advocate for a more inclusive and representative wine world by working with independent, sustainable and minority wine producers. He uses the most reputable suppliers to source delicious, interesting and sustainable boutique wines not available in supermarkets.

“Our focus at Le Social is on a small but sharp selection of natural, organic and sustainably made wines from around Europe”, says Jérôme. They can deliver the same or next day in Manchester and Greater Manchester, by bike if possible.

“We see wine as a medium for social interaction, hence our name. It’s also very important to us that our wines are offered at an accessible price point. They start at £9.99 a bottle, so there’s something for everyone,” he adds.

Le Social launched their Wine Bar in Pollard Yard in January with a brand-new drinking and dining concept. Guests can experience an ever-changing menu of natural wines, deli boards and continental plates. It’s also home to Le Social’s Tasting Room, designed to host wine tastings, workshops and private functions.

Le Social & Friends spring and summer series of events include a Wine Tasting on Thursday 7th July, plus Le Social X BQ Farm & Fish Monton Wine Tasting on the 8th July and an Anniversary Special Tasting Night on the 3rd August. Le Social are also planning a big two year birthday party in August as well.

On Saturdays they will be opening a selection of wines available to drink by the glass or the bottle in the shipping container shop or out on the terrace. Customers can choose from the ever changing menu of natural wines, deli boards and continental plates - or pick any bottles from our shelves and fridges at retail prices (a £5 corkage fee applies) - book here. Two hour slots run from 2pm - 10pm.
