Popular Manchester burger restaurant The Spinn will be the latest residency to take over MediaCityUK’s unique dining and arts experience Box on The Docks. ‘The Spinn at Box on the Docks’ will run from the 1st July to 8th August, initially opening Thursdays to Sundays before extending to seven days.
The Spinn’s co-owners are Adam Thomas of Emmerdale and I’m a Celeb fame and Scott Graham who is well-known amongst Manchester foodies thanks to his street food success with Oh My Glaze. The Spinn’s selection of burgers, includes the now famous ‘BURN-ham’ featuring Oh My Glaze’s well known Scotch Bonnet sauce.
“Lockdown was definitely a shock to the system but we’re back again and here we are opening a pop-up residency at Box on the Docks,” says Adam. “We’re thrilled to be spending time in this thriving place with the BBC and ITV so close by, and while I’m flipping burgers I can even see Coronation Street just across the way so I’ll give them a little wave. This is what we got into the restaurant industry for, to see people happy and to make great food.”
Located in the MediaCityUK gardens, diners can enjoy a dining experience within their own completely unique and art-adorned greenhouse setting. 15 greenhouses will be available to book from 12pm to 8pm for up to six people, with additional benches and deck chairs also on offer for walk ins. In addition, a takeaway service will be running throughout. As well as burgers, visitors can enjoy signature BOTD cocktails, a brand-new brunch menu and child friendly options.
The Spinn partnership is the first of a programme of summer residencies marking another exciting milestone for BOTD, which since launching last year to help support local artists and the hospitality industry through the pandemic, has grown from to strength to strength – safely attracting thousands of diners throughout last summer.
Local artists have returned to re-vamp BOTD’s collection of 30 sheds, private dining pods and greenhouses in preparation for another busy season of outdoor dining within MediaCityUK.
Other new additions for the BOTD Summer Season include The Box on the Docks Bar and Grill pop-up which will offer rotating tri-weekly residencies – currently housing Kong’s Chicken Shop with more to follow. Alternatively, visitors can enjoy a cold beer with independent Salford brewhouse SEVEN BRO7HERS, or seasonal Brunch and Supper menus from plant-based eatery Vertigo.
