It’s hotting up at Hatch, the eclectic Box Park on Oxford Road. And July is set to be a scorcher with a super local new addition to this independent food, drink and retail neighbourhood. Hunkered down under the city’s iconic Mancunian Way flyover, it’s home to some of the most exciting and creative independent businesses in the city.
Up and coming burger aficionados, That Burger Place will be the newest street food stall to join the food and drink traders at Hatch with their first city centre site. They’ll be serving their New York-inspired burgers, including the signature California Dreaming burger with Big Bob’s sauce and the award-winning New Yorker burger with decadent Kevin Bacon Fries. That Burger Place will also be introducing a new special burger as a weekly Saturday special, which will be exclusive to Hatch customers - the Homer Doughnut Burger.
That Burger Place began in 2017 as a family run business in Swinton and has since created an enviable reputation as one of UK’s most promising new burger businesses with huge demand for their authentic dishes and their secret spice blend. All the recipes are a closely guarded secret. A second site is now up and running in Walkden and the team are known for serving up thousands of burgers a week.
If you fancy tying your visit up with a day of shopping, a brand new Makers Market will be coming to Hatch on Sunday 11th July from 12.00 - 5.00pm - the second in the second series of Hatch’s popular new outdoor monthly markets. The free event will feature ten new artisan and local makers selling everything from handmade jewellery to beautiful home furnishings.
Live music is also on the cards in July in the form of Good Custard Disco returning to Hatch on Friday 16th July for the first of the Motorway Disco Series! They will be joined under the A57 by London based disco duo Mas Que Nada Brothers. Expect good vibes via Disco, Disco House, Funky House, House, Nu Disco. This is a free event with only a limited amount of guaranteed entry tickets available. The world renowned DJ Paulette is also appearing on the decks on Friday 30th July. Paulette has held residencies at some of the most prestigious clubs and best parties in the world including The Hacienda, The Zap Club and Ibiza Rocks at Pacha.
