WHILE some of us are searching the attic for festive decorations, baubles that have lost their glitz or a battered cardboard angel, Albert’s Schloss are decking the halls with their biggest floral installation yet, courtesy of the Northern Quarter’s award-winning Frog MCR
The theme is Schwarzwald – the Black Forest and what better way to fuel the seasonal revelries than a cocktail roster built around Monkey 47, the original Black Forest gin. Punters can sip these under the emerald green and gold installation recreating the Forest’s thick canopy of evergreens while thousands of festive lights twinkle away
We’ll let the Schloss wordsmiths capture the Wunderbar wonder of it all: “The Black Forest drinks menu celebrates purity. Folklore, craft and natural beauty of the forest and the foraged botanicals that Make Monkey 47 such a formidable gin. The menu includes Forest G&Ts, Blackberry Royales and the Winter Solstice, served in hand carved wooden mugs.
Each to his own, but ToM is happier in this warm Forest than out around the increasingly damp Christmas Markets.
