Food lovers will embark on Birmingham this weekend for a celebration of the city’s chefs and restaurants. Having honoured London’s eateries last month, the Taste Festival series is moving up north for the four-day Taste of Birmingham event, which kicks off today (Thursday).

In the beautiful setting of Edgbaston’s Cannon Hill Park, the festival will see a selection of the city’s top eateries showcase their menus and cook up a storm for hungry visitors to enjoy. There will also be a host of foodie exhibitors from Birmingham and beyond, live music from Escala, chef demonstrations, cook offs and tastings.

Visitors will get the chance to taste fine dining delights from Michelin-starred eateries Purnell’s, Simpsons and Turners as well as dishes from 14 other selected restaurants. There will also be bars and wine exhibitors offering something to enjoy alongside the food.

Taste of Birmingham runs tomorrow (Friday, July 10) and Saturday during two sessions: 12pm – 4pm and 5.30pm – 9.30pm. On Sunday the event will run from 12pm – 5pm. To book tickets visitwww.visitbirmingham.com or call 0871 230 1092.
