Embankment Cafe Co., an exciting addition to Manchester’s café scene has just opened its doors, offering a relaxed space to meet up with friends or work colleagues over speciality coffee, delicious pastries, and more.

A hidden gem next door to the luxury CitySuites Aparthotels, Embankment Cafe Co. sits right at the heart of Manchester’s up-and-coming Embankment West, a premium city centre neighbourhood in the central business district. The area used to be the location of Manchester Exchange, a railway station that served major cities in the north, as well as London, from 1884 until 1969.

The cool café interior reflects the site’s history and importance as a hub for travel and business in Manchester. Platform direction signs, warm pendant lighting, contemporary art, and an exposed ceiling offer a sense of depth and scale combined with industrial touches to create a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

Grab a window seat to get access to a glorious view of Manchester’s historic Cathedral. You’ll also find large round tables for groups, as well as high tables and chairs with easily accessible power sockets, and even slouchy sofas with blankets if that’s more your style. Embankment Cafe Co. also has a generous courtyard with outdoor seating to catch the best of the early morning and afternoon sunshine.

Short on time? Embankment Cafe Co. also offers takeaway food and drink, meaning it’s easy to grab your order and go if you’re commuting or sightseeing. A hatch to the right of the entrance, makes it even easier to pick up your order and get on with your day.

Embankment Cafe Co. offers a wide range of speciality coffees served by the experienced barista team. They use 100% arabica beans, meaning the flavour of the coffee is higher quality, much smoother and better tasting. Embankment Cafe Co. also serves a delicious mocha, along with a variety of original and flavoured hot chocolate including chocolate orange, and white chocolate. Every drink can also be made with dairy-free milk alternatives, including oat, almond, and soya.

In line with Embankment Cafe Co.’s commitment to the environment, the coffee is Rainforest Alliance approved and all suppliers have had their eco-friendly and sustainability commitments evaluated.

Tea more your thing? Tea drinkers can choose from a variety of Novus Teas, from classic English Breakfast and Sapphire Earl Grey to options including Persian Pomegranate, Dragonwell Green, and Egyptian Mint. Embankment Cafe Co. also serves a vitamin rich range of fresh fruit juices by Frobisher’s available in refreshing flavours such as mango, pineapple, cranberry, and bumbleberry.

If you’re interested in picking up breakfast or a light snack, Embankment Cafe Co. also offers a daily range of cakes and pastries including croissants (try their delicious vegan blueberry croissant), brownies, and almond Bakewell tart. Later in January there will be a wider selection of lunch options, including sandwiches. Following that, the café will introduce a range of coffee cocktails and alcoholic drinks. By springtime, when the weather improves, visitors will also be able to enjoy lighter salads and a selection of ice cream.

Embankment Cafe Co is open Monday to Friday (7am – 7pm), Saturdays (9am – 5pm), and Sundays (10am – 5pm).
