Talented chefs at Tine to take over The Bungalow at Kampus this autumn

9 August 2021 by Deanna Thomas

Tine will join Le Social to host the third food and drink pop-up within the garden neighbourhood, taking over the Bungalow, Kampus’ canal side building on stilts, from 13th August until the end of September.

Tine is run by James Lord and Josh Shanahan a pair of ambitious Mancunian chefs with over 20 years’ experience between them working in some of the most prestigious restaurants in Manchester including Mana, The French, Where The Light Gets In, Manchester House and Wolf At The Door.

The talented pair created Tine with the purpose of offering progressive and innovative dishes based on their collective experience. James and Josh launched a six-month pop-up at Blossom Street Social in Ancoats back in March 2020 which was unfortunately interrupted by the national lockdown.

Now they will be able to show off their skills in the Bungalow kitchen. Tine pride themselves on working with incredible farmers, focussing on hyper seasonal and local products, telling a story with each plate. Expect traditional British cuisine, inspired by the best produce the British Isles and Ireland has to offer, infused with umami and deep natural flavours.

Offering an exclusive set menu of five courses, Tine will partner with fellow resident Le Social who will complement the dishes with an extensive list of fine organic and natural wines.

Kampus, is a vibrant new neighbourhood built around a garden developed by CAPITAL&CENTRIC and HBD right next to Manchester’s famous Canal Street and just minutes from Piccadilly Station.

It encompasses various architectural styles and builds on a rich cultural heritage, making use of historic buildings that have lain derelict for years,

The Kampus gardens and Bungalow are the central feature of the community and are permanently open to the public, with the Bungalow operating as a village hall for pop-up events and community groups.  The neighbourhood will be home to home grown, independent bars, restaurants, cafés and retail from brands including General Store, Common &. Co/ Cornerstone and Bread Flower.

Adam Brady of HBD said “Kampus is proud to be bringing together two of the most exciting young businesses in Manchester. We are passionate about supporting local independent operators and can’t wait to see what Tine and Le Social bring to our growing community.”

From Friday 13th August, Tine will occupy The Bungalow at KAMPUS, trading from Thursday, Friday, Saturday 6 - 9pm, Sunday 5 - 8pm for evening meals.
