Tampopo, the Manchester based Pan Asian restaurant have kicked off 2016 by presenting a cheque for £1850 to the humanitarian charity MAG (Mines Advisory Group).
In 2015, Tampopo established a charitable partnership with MAG, whereby 50p from every one of the Vietnamese ‘Pho’ dishes they sold was donated to the organisation.
MAG's vision is a safe and secure future for men, women and children affected by armed violence and conflict. Their work includes clearing landmines, destroying weapons and making land safe after war.
They work in many of the areas that bring us some of the classic, beautiful dishes that Tampopo has made famous in Manchester, including Vietnam.

“We’re delighted to be handing this cheque over today. It represents a small
thank you to the countries that have inspired our restaurant, where often life
isn’t as easy as it is for us here in the UK. If serving up Pho at Tampopo in
Manchester, can help save a life in Vietnam, or anywhere overseas affected by
the consequences of war, well, that’s fantastic as far as we’re concerned.”
