TAMPOPO’S EAST STREET TO BRING FAST, FRESH PAN ASIAN STREET FOOD TO PICCADILLY GARDENS

23 July 2018

TAMPOPO is opening East Street, on Piccadilly Gardens on Wednesday, August 1, bringing an ‘on the go’ version of their Far Eastern street food cuisine to the heart of Manchester city centre.

The  former ‘Rice’ site will be transformed into a 56-seater restaurant with outdoor dining for 20 people to enjoy leisurely sharing plates and cold beers, while take-out customers will be able to order from the big open kitchen.

Twenty years on it’s a fresh, new step for the city’s original, independent, Pan Asian restaurant, inspired by the casual, fast-paced dining styles of Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and beyond. The team have also developed a strong Festival following, having taken Tampopo on the road to Festival No 6, Manchester Food and Drink Festival, Bluedot and Kendal Calling.

This East Street is the latest evolution, following their eaterie of the same name off London’s Oxford Street and the East Street Kiosk at the Trafford Centre. Expect a similar bright, eye-catching frontage at Piccadilly Gardens.

On the menu Tampopo fans will find many of their favourites as well as some new dishes – all tailored for the take out, faster food experience with prices starting at £4.95 per dish. East Street, Unit 1, The Pavilion, One Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester M1 1RG. Open from 11am -10pm daily from August 1.
