King Street Catalonian restaurant Tast has announced that it has reluctantly taken the decision to close Enxaneta, its third-floor fine dining experience over the summer.
“We simply cannot operate both Tast and Enxaneta without risking burning out our team who are working their hardest to keep us going,” a statement from the Tast team said. “They have supported us through the toughest year and now we must support them.”
However, Tast's bar, terrace and restaurant remains open as usual and will continue to deliver Tastets (their signature small plates) and Catalan rice along with cold beers, cocktails and exceptional wines all summer.
“The Terrace at Tast has provided the boost we all needed, allowing us finally to bring a real flavour and buzz of Barcelona to King Street” the statement goes on to say. “We've served more croquetas than ever, poured Cava day and night, and even finally decided to add to the menu the much requested 'Bravas', done in the Tast style of course.
“Enxaneta will close for three months, giving us time to rebuild our teams, deliver the best possible experience we can to our Tast guests and develop incredible dishes ahead of our October reopening.”
Enxaneta opened on the top floor of Tast Cuina Catalana 2018 aiming to represent the culmination of the Catalonian culinary experience. It offered two exclusive seasonal tasting menus from Executive Chef Paco Pérez, who oversees seven restaurants which collectively hold five Michelin Stars (2 Michelin Star Miramar in Llançà, 2 Michelin Star Enoteca in Barcelona, and Michelin Star Cinco in Berlin).
Dishes were designed to represent Catalonia's best flavours and scents from the city to the forests, from the sea to the mountains.
