TASTE OF ALTRINCHAM: A 10-day celebration of Altrincham’s food and drink scene coming this month

16 February 2026 by Rhiannon Ingle

Mark your calendars as Taste of Altrincham is rolling back into town, and this year it’s stretching the feast across a full ten days.

Running from Friday 27th February to Sunday 8th March, the event will serve up a packed celebration of the place that’s become one of Greater Manchester’s most exciting food neighbourhoods with venues across the town centre hosting workshops, tastings, talks and live demos, alongside family events and hands-on sessions for younger visitors.

Independent kitchens, neighbourhood bars, artisan bakers and inventive chefs are all in on the action, throwing open their doors and turning up the flavour.

Last year set the bar high, but this time the programme is going to be even bigger. Attendees can look forward to special menus and one-off dishes you won’t see again, alongside cooking demos where you can nick a few pro tips without the stress of a restaurant pass.

Highlights include Blanchflower’s rare evening opening for a four-course, hyper-seasonal dinner and a relaxed Wine and Cheese Night at Alibi. The programme also leans into stories behind the businesses, from Emma Thackray of Hip Pop sharing her brand journey to practical sessions like Shere Khan Kitchen’s Samosa Chaat workshop and Kit:ch’s Charcuterie Cup class.

Live action comes via the Ultimate Altrincham Chef Challenge mystery cook-off, plus baking masterclasses from MOST Bakery. Families can tap into craft workshops with OYEZ Arts and cooking sessions led by Cook Stars and Cheshire Cookery School.

The much-loved Ultimate Pudding Competition will also be making its return, which means serious bragging rights are up for grabs. Elsewhere, expect everything from Caribbean food and movement at Jenna Patties to Sicilian and spring wine tastings, coffee cuppings and a latte art throwdown spotlighting local barista talent.

It’s the kind of thing you can dip into for an hour or build a whole weekend around, so be sure to swing by to something new, revisit an old favourite or just follow your nose and see where you land.

There will also be heaps of exciting offers which are exclusively available on the new Visit Altrincham App, so be sure to download it ahead of time!

A Taste of Altrincham is organised by Altrincham BID, sponsored by Myerson Solicitors and supported by UKSPF funding.

Mandy White, Director of Altrincham BID, said: "A Taste of Altrincham is a true celebration of the town’s food and drink scene and the brilliant people behind it. We’re thrilled to be bringing the event back for 2026 with an even more exciting programme that encourages people to explore, learn and enjoy everything Altrincham has to offer. From families and first-time visitors to seasoned food lovers, there really is something for everyone."

Carl Newton, CEO of Myerson Solicitors, added: "We are proud to once again sponsor A Taste of Altrincham and support an event that champions local businesses and brings the community together. Altrincham has built an outstanding reputation for quality and creativity, and this festival perfectly showcases the innovation and passion that make the town such a special place.”

With just a little over a week to go, anticipation is already building for what promises to be a standout event in Altrincham’s calendar.
