Teacup Goes Peruvian With Soho Sensation Ceviche

8 July 2013

CAKES take a backseat for one night at Teacup on Thomas Street in the Northern Quarter. Co-owner and music legend Mr Scruff has invited London’s flagship Peruvian restaurant Ceviche to share his chefs and take over the kitchen.

The Wednesday, July 10 event, featuring one of the hottest cuisines on the planet (and not a rib or burger in sight, hooray), offers a pop-up restaurant and masterclass headed by Ceviche restaurateur Martin Morales. Oh and there’ll be appropriate cocktails from the his acclaimed eaterie in Frith Street, Soho (pictured below). It’s all part of Britain’s first pop-up restaurant tour, mostly visiting coastal towns.

During a one-hour masterclass just for 12 people you could learn to prepare Ceviche’s award winning seabass dish 'Don Ceviche'.  Straight after, you will be able to serve your ceviche in the pop-up restaurant, followed by a three course meal. The masterclass costs £75.

If that’s too intense, just sit down at the 35-seater pop-up for the same three-course meal, price £48. For further details and to book tickets visit http://cevicheuk.com/manchester.php.

Both tickets include a copy of the new book Ceviche Peruvian Kitchen (Weidenfeld & Nicholson, £25) featuring 100 recipes, from sizzling barbecued anticucho skewers to superfood quinoa salads, juicy stir fry saltados and lucuma ice cream.

“The freshest raw fish, just enough lime, a chilli-kick and a pinch of ground sea salt. That's all you need for an authentic Peruvian ceviche. How you make it, the methods and timings, are ingredients in their own right.”
