What comes to mind when you think of the food at the Christmas markets? Bratwurst? Hog Roast? Or could it be mulled wine or a stein? For those of you with a sweet tooth among us, there’s probably a clear answer here and that answer, would of course be, Miniature Dutch Pancakes (also known as Poffertjes).
Well for those of you who just can’t wait for the winter months, you can now feed your craving at Papa Dutch in Altrincham who are serving up these delectable, tiny pancakes all year round.

Formed by father and son duo, Joshua Jorritsma and his father Sjoerd during lockdown, the business started as a mobile stall which started life on Pancake Day 2021 and found widespread success at Altrincham Market.
Their spell at Alty market has now given them a loyal following and with that a permanent location in a gorgeous square in Altrincham. Found within a former bottle shop on Goose Green and called ‘Papa Dutch The Little Dutch Café', the new location will be serving up a range of Dutch treats.
Customers can still get their famous Poffertjes with a range of topping from fruit to chocolate to a variety of spreads, they’ll also be able to get their hands on classic Dutch stroopwafels and Ice cream from a local supplier, Daresbury Dairy.
