The Shortlist for this year's Asian Restaurant Awards have been released and Manchester has turned up in full force. Over 100,000 online votes have flooded in from a community of foodies to create the initial list of nominees which are now being visited by the judging team.
The awards themselves are an all-encompassing celebration of Asian food in the UK which looks to include all Asian nations and aspects of what makes the continents cuisine so great. The presentation ceremony will take place at The Hilton In Manchester City Centre on July 31st.
ACF chairman Yawar Khan had this to say about the awards: “Vital for thriving high streets and the health of local economies, independent restaurants deserve praise for their fortitude and resilience,”
“In the face of rampant food inflation, rising utility bills, raised bank interest rates, staff shortages and customers hit by the cost-of-living crisis, restaurant owners need to compete on quality – not price.”
